Terms of use
DRAFT for Kate's review, 26 October 2026. These terms aren't yet in force, and they need a legal review. Their permanent home will be an assembl.co.nz address. Items marked TO CONFIRM need a decision.
Agent-ready cars is a demonstration by assembl. Using it, through an AI assistant or on the Agent-ready cars page, means you accept these terms.
What it is, and what it isn't
- The dealer, Harbour Lane Motors (demo), and all 48 of its cars are Simulated. They're invented for the demonstration. Nothing is for sale.
- Car images are 3D renders made by assembl, not photographs of real cars.
- Test-drive and hold requests are Simulated. Nothing is booked, held, sent or paid, and the dealer has no yard, phone or staff.
- The service never looks a car up by plate or owner, fetches no listing pages, and has no market price data. The car check reads model-level counts (make, model and year) from NZTA's open Motor Vehicle Register.
Information, not advice
Car checks and running costs are general information to help you ask the right questions. They aren't financial, legal or mechanical advice. Running costs combine published figures (MBIE fuel and household power prices, and NZTA road user charges) with stated estimates, and every figure carries its label. Before you buy any car, do the official checks yourself: a PPSR search for money owing, NZTA's WOF and licence check, and an independent pre-purchase inspection.
Your rights under consumer law
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under New Zealand law that can't be excluded, including under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 where they apply.
Data and credits
Fuel prices and household electricity prices come from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. Road user charge rates come from NZTA Waka Kotahi. Model facts in the car check come from the NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi Motor Vehicle Register open data (CC BY 4.0). The Consumer Information Notice fields follow MBIE's example notice under the Consumer Information Standards (Used Motor Vehicles) Regulations 2008.
Fair use
- Use the service for its purpose: finding, checking and costing cars.
- Don't send other people's personal information, such as a seller's name, phone number or plate. The tools refuse what they can recognise.
- Don't try to overload, probe or get around the service, and don't use it to collect data in bulk.
Availability and liability
This is a demonstration. We may change it, pause it or stop it at any time. To the extent the law allows, we provide it as it is, and we aren't liable for any loss from relying on it. TO CONFIRM: liability wording and any cap, after legal review
Law
New Zealand law governs these terms, and New Zealand courts can hear any dispute about them.
